a pretty good year...

Alright, it's that time again - Christmas is coming, the new year is about to knock at the door and it's time for my personal review. So beware... ;)

2009 has been a wonderful year for Air-Child. Our little VA baby has made its first steps in the flightsim community with the public opening in June, and we received a lot of positive feedback for the concept of the airline. Twelve months ago it was still somewhat hard to tell if this project was going to be a success or not, especially in regards to the UNICEF part. But after only 6 months, and with all the great support we get from you guys and our donating partners, we are confident to be on the right track. In 2010 we will put all our efforts in extending the fund raising with more partners and more online events.
This month's Christmas Delivery, the first ever official VATSIM event organized by Air-Child, was already a great success, and I'd like to especially thank Rafal for his great work and commitment! There's wonderful new ideas already for next year, so we all can look forward to some exciting adventures.
By the end of this year, and just half a year after going public, Air-Child is no longer a no-name VA. We are a Vatsim partner VA, have been certified by vACC Austria and Germany, are listed in vataware and have more than 40 pilots and growing in the vroute community. And this is only thanks to you pilots who support the VA and keep flying for it.

So here's a big hug to all of you:

Personally, this year has proved to me, more than any other, that flightsimming can give you new experiences and aspects all the time. I met Jeroen and his nice family in Ireland, I was allowed to fly in Norbert's home cockpit (and crash short of the runway  ) and I met some fantastic people online, like Rafal, Yoram, Pierre or Tobias - (nice chat yesterday, Tobi)
Due to some programming work (although much of it didn't make it to the website yet), my personal flight record this year was rather small, but I wouldn't want to miss any of those flights.

Now take a breath, because you're almost through with this post. I just wish you all a Merry Christmas (at least to those who celebrate it), peaceful holidays and a perfect take-off into the new year. Fly for Children!

:fly:
See you there!

Dear ACH VA members and the Board,

it is my great pleasure to pay contribution to the Christmas wishes as well as to the summary of 2009 of Airchild Virtual Airline. It has been a great pleasure for me to be with all of you in the great company of pilots and controllers who combine their passion of aviation with a good cause. And I hope this company will grow!

ACH VA is my first airline I joined when I decided not to be alone in the on-line sky. And it has turned out to be great enjoyment in the really good company of fellow pilots. A great pleasure. Thank you.

May then 2010 be successful to all of you, in terms of your pilot's achievements, personal ambitions, plans, dreams and anything you might be striving for ...

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!

Hi!

I fully agree, 2009 was a very succesful year for Air Child. Congratulations and big thanks to the founders, the sponsors and all of you!

Half a year passed since I joined Air Child in July, and I enjoyed (almost) every minute (some were really annoying, CTDs and so on :) )

Let´s hope ACH will continue growing in 2010 (and the EMB 190 will be finally added to the fleet  )

Merry X-mas to all of you!

Gentleman, I only can say:
Thank you very much to all of you, who has made a virtual dream come true!
Thank you very much to all of you, who has made real dreams come true for some children, supported by UNICEF, with the money you all have flown.

Mary Christmas to all of you and your family.

Norbert

Admin Andrew...
From an admin perspective, it's been a pleasure to be admin on the forum over the past year. Lots of new suggestions and comments helping the growth of the site, no warnings or bannings needing to be given, and only one post removed (that naughty Pierre  )
Lets hope Air-Child continues to grow, and surpass the targets set by all of the pilots this year.

Pilot Andrew...
I can honestly say, through the help of other members, I have learnt more about flying and flight sim in this year alone, than any previous year. Learnt about sids, stars, charts, flight levels etc etc and of course (thanks to Rafal) online flying :fly:
I know I have much more to learn about procedures etc, and much more to ask, but I will save that for 2010

That being said, I wish all of our members a Merry Christmas, and all the best for 2010

Merry Christmas to the whole world, whatever their origin, skin color and religion.
The world is round and it belongs to all. No one knows this better than us pilots.
I wish you all good health only ! Because being healthy, you can achieve everything ! :)
